Our very own Food Ambassador MasterChef Tommy Pham hosted a live cooking workshop for Only About Children families and his followers cooking Korean Jeon. You can re-watch the cooking workshop on Tommy’s Instagram account here.

Ingredients
Fritters:
- 1 1/2 cups plain flour
- 4 tbsp potato starch or corn starch
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup cold water + more if required
- 1 carrot julienned
- 1 zucchini julienned
- 1 potato peeled julienned
- 1 bunch green onion cut in half
- Neutral oil for frying
Dipping Sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
Equipment required:
- Small bowl
- Large bowl
- Measuring spoon
- Non-stick pan
- Ladle
- Spatula
- Plate
- Paper towels
Recipe
- Julienne / grate your favourite vegetables
- Mix the flour, starch, baking powder and salt together
- Add the garlic and water into the mix and stir until smooth (add more water if needed)
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat
- Mix the veggies in with your batter mix
- Pour a ladle (1/2 cup) of batter into the pan
- Cook until the bottom layer is golden (4 mins)
- Flip fritter and cook until golden, remove fritter from pan and onto a plate lined with paper towels
- Repeat process for remaining batter and vegetables
- For the dipping sauce combine ingredients in a small bowl and mix evenly
