We've been with OAC (previously Maples) since my youngest child was 1. The team at OAC have always been fantastic. My children have created close bonds with many of the educators and throughout the transition to OAC from Maples Hayley and her team have maintained their continued care. After touring many of the other childcares around Mernda, I'm so glad we chose this one. My children have created lasting friendships throughout their journeys in the different rooms that will hopefully last a lifetime.
We’ve had such a wonderful experience at Only About Children Mernda! The educators have been amazing with our daughter Shamaya — so patient, caring, and genuinely invested in her learning and happiness. She has grown so much in confidence and independence since joining.

In regards to the change of management:
We have been at Maples for 2 years before OAC took over last year and the majority of the staff and children have stayed, which means the classroom standards have not changed and are still fantastic. Don't be deterred by the company name, this centre has the best staff in the area!
My son has been attending Only About Children Mernda since he was just 10 months old, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, the educators have been warm, friendly, and genuinely invested in his wellbeing and development.
One of the things we love most is the centre’s play-based learning approach. They really encourage the children to explore, be themselves, and learn at their own pace. It’s been amazing to watch how much our son has grown — socially, emotionally, and intellectually — thanks to the nurturing and engaging environment they provide.
The chef is also incredible! Our son comes home talking about the delicious meals, which makes us feel confident that he’s being well cared for in every way.
We’ve been so impressed that we’ll be enrolling our daughter there too. It’s such a relief knowing she’ll be joining a community we already trust and love.

We are really happy with this centre. There have been a few change of ownerships since we signed up (about 2 years ago) but the staff remained the same. The educators are absolutely incredible, they are invested in the development and care of our child. We collaborate together to help our son grow. If we have had any feedback or special requests, the educators and staff have delivered on everything we ask and keep as updated as needed. The chef at the daycare centre is incredible! Not only does she cook nutritious and seasonal food for the kids, she also does little classes on how to prepare veggies, composting etc. All in all, I couldn’t recommend this place enough and our son absolutely loves going to daycare- we just increased his days because he loves it so much.
My oldest son has been attending OAC Mernda since he was 11 months old, he is now 3 and a half. He is now in one of the 3 year old Kinder rooms. My younger son is in the Seedlings/babies room.
I recomend this center to everyone who asks and cannot speak more highly of it in general. The staff are friendly and welcoming, always saying good morning to each child individually at drop off (always using names). Communication has always been clear wether it be during handover, calling to ask questions or notify of incidents that may have happened (kids can be clumsy and unpredictable). The patience and care educators displayed while our family grew from 3 to 4 was incredible and really helped my son adjust to his new normal. He was never rushed into following instruction, he was guided into small things like feeding the fish, or reading a book. It is a time and support I will always be thankful for.
Every child you see throughout the center is happy and engaged, and the opportunities for real world learning and language experiences are short of nothing. It is incredible to see the children's interests encorportated into their learning environemtn and education program.
OAC Mernda really is an Early Learning Center, not just a daycare.
I found Maples after an accident happened for my son at another childcare and he went to surgery room. I am so grateful about what Maples’ team have done for my son and my family at a very stressful time of our life. They are caring, kind and professional. The management team even answered my questions during the weekends. Wonderful educators helped my son to settle in his new environment. Maples has extracurricular such as sports, Music and sustainability. I am so glad that my son has a chance to join Maples and I highly recommend them.
Beautiful service with all the beautiful people working together to make it the best possible centre in the area. My girls love going to Kinder now and come home with beautiful stories to tell every day. Thank you ❤️

Maples is a very professional early learning centre. I highly recommend it because of the lovely staff members and helpful management team. My child's been going to this centre for two and half years, and she has a great time every day. The care and the feedback we receive from staff and management from time to time is the main reason we kept our child in Maples.
Maples early learning is definitely worth a look,the Educators and management are so helpful ,compasionate and detecated to helping child learn, grow and explore in a warm welcoming natural play spaces the quality of care is above and beyond its such a fuzzy warm feeling of away from home you wont be dissapointed.

Maples is amazing place! Great staff and very welcoming. My daughter have been going here for 6 months and she has learned so much since going here, She made lots of friends and really likes her teachers. I’m glad I found them!
The second I walked into Maples, I knew it was the right fit for my family. Every person we encountered on our tour gave us a genuine smile or wave (including a little boy who was telling his grown up what an exciting morning he had)
My baby has been attending Maples since she was 5 months old and I could not be happier with the quality of care that the educators provide for her. As a first time mum, I was a little hesitant about leaving her at such a young age, but my mind was quickly put to ease, knowing that there were permanent educators in the room and they communicated everything to us at drop off, pick up or just checking in throughout the day.
My daughter has built beautiful relationships with her educators, (as have we) and its really sweet to see how excited she gets when she arrives for the day and spots them! I love seeing and hearing about what she gets up to every day through photos and stories.

My daughter started primary school this year after graduating from the blossoms room at Maples Early Learning.
Our daughter went off to a school where she did not have any friends from Maples also attending which was our biggest concern however after receiving feedback from her prep teacher telling us how confident she is and how she has fitted in brilliantly and her letter recognition, and handwriting skills are very good I put this all back to Maples.
Maples prepared our daughter better than we could of ever imagined. The kinder staff are absolutely amazing.
If you want your child to have the best start possible to their school years then this is the place to get that.

My son loves engaging with the nature-based play experiences, both indoor and outdoor, and my family and I really value the sustainable practices embedded into daily life at Maples. Management and educators are so easy to communicate with, as they employ a compassionate, understanding and flexible mindset. The facilities at the centre are amazing and sustainable. The environment is open and inviting - giving that sense of belonging to all who enter. The curriculum at the centre is supported by real life materials such as tea pots, cups, mixers etc. I've yet to see one piece of plastic in the centre!!
But most importantly are the educators and management who work there! It's obvious that childcare is a passion and carer for them and not just a time filler. When walking in the service each educator will make the effort to come and say hi to both myself and my children.
I'm so glad I made the move to Maples! Thank you for all that each one of you do on a daily basis for our children!
It was a big move for me but I'm very happy and at peace knowing that my kids are in safe hands and surprise me everyday with their new learnings. The staff are professional, kind and genuinely care for the children. The centre is well organised and follow effective communication with parents. The premise is always clean and the food is healthy and nutritious. The programs are high class and children are supported in their development through a range of activities in a safe environment. I would highly recommend Maples Early Learning to any family who is looking for a quality childcare centre in the area.
Very happy with the care at this centre. I toured a couple of centres initially and even based on the tour it was clear this was the centre for us. The staff, including the director, know all the children well. They are open to working with you on what type of care you want for your children.
My daughter is in the seedlings room and has developed good relationships with her carers. She has settled in well and I feel comfortable knowing she is taken care of while I work.
It may appear from the outside that there is not much outdoor area but after attending the centre I can assure each room has a significant outdoor space attached and there's even chickens!

My 2 and a half year old loves Mernda Maples! She's always so excited to go and always so happy at the end of the day. She always has good things to tell me about what activities she did, what she ate, always tells me "Mummy I love my school. I'm happy". The environment in the centre is so welcoming and peaceful and the team are so creative!
My daughter has been attending since she was about 7 months old, almost a year later she still loves going in every day and comes home happy (and exhausted) each evening! The educators at Maples are really attentive and focussed on doing what's best for the children, while also being truly baby-led! For example my little explorer wanted to get in the sandpit after it had been raining (it was a warm afternoon) and she did, the lovely educators let her jump in and splash about and let other kids jump in and get dirty as well - the videos were priceless and it shows that the educators were not annoyed about the extra works these little munchkins were creating but rather enjoyed this fun experience with them! By the same token they have always been very attentive to the needs of parents, for example I have always had a no-shoe policy in my household (till my little one learned to walk of course) as I wanted her to feel all the different textures and sensations with her feet - despite a baby with no socks looking awful to prospective parents doing tours, the staff at Maples respected my wishes and took that extra step explaining to concerned parents that she is a no-shoes-no-socks kinda gal :-) I could really go on and on about how amazing their art program, language (French) classes are, the chicken coop etc and how much my little one enjoys hanging with the "big kids" in the main area at the end of each day dancing around to music or making their own music (on the big piano!) but what I love most is the focus on sustainability (they have no plastic toys - everything is natural, kids are allowed to play with actual kitchen pots and pans in the sandpit and actual musical equipment) and of course, my favourite - they are happy to use reusable cloth nappies! I absolutely could not fault Maples and thank them for being such a truly amazing place for little people<3

The building, outdoor and indoor areas and all the staff are outstanding.
Not doing many drop offs or pick ups when I do all of the staff are so helpful and give you a complete run down of both of my daughters day.

Only About Children Mernda is a purpose-built campus, providing high quality early learning and care for 108 nursery, toddler and kinder aged children in the local community.

Mernda Kindergarten Program (3-5 years)
At Only About Children Mernda, our kindergarten program is designed to give children aged 3-5 the strongest start to school. Led by qualified early childhood teachers, we focus on building school-ready skills through a balance of structured learning and play. Our Mernda kindergarten is part of the Victorian Government Free Kinder program, plus recognised with the Kinder Tick.

We’ve been so impressed that we’ll be enrolling our daughter there too. It’s such a relief knowing she’ll be joining a community we already trust and love.

We are really happy with this centre. There have been a few change of ownerships since we signed up (about 2 years ago) but the staff remained the same. The educators are absolutely incredible, they are invested in the development and care of our child. We collaborate together to help our son grow. If we have had any feedback or special requests, the educators and staff have delivered on everything we ask and keep as updated as needed. The chef at the daycare centre is incredible! Not only does she cook nutritious and seasonal food for the kids, she also does little classes on how to prepare veggies, composting etc. All in all, I couldn’t recommend this place enough and our son absolutely loves going to daycare- we just increased his days because he loves it so much.
My oldest son has been attending OAC Mernda since he was 11 months old, he is now 3 and a half. He is now in one of the 3 year old Kinder rooms. My younger son is in the Seedlings/babies room.
I recomend this center to everyone who asks and cannot speak more highly of it in general. The staff are friendly and welcoming, always saying good morning to each child individually at drop off (always using names). Communication has always been clear wether it be during handover, calling to ask questions or notify of incidents that may have happened (kids can be clumsy and unpredictable). The patience and care educators displayed while our family grew from 3 to 4 was incredible and really helped my son adjust to his new normal. He was never rushed into following instruction, he was guided into small things like feeding the fish, or reading a book. It is a time and support I will always be thankful for.
Every child you see throughout the center is happy and engaged, and the opportunities for real world learning and language experiences are short of nothing. It is incredible to see the children's interests encorportated into their learning environemtn and education program.
OAC Mernda really is an Early Learning Center, not just a daycare.
I found Maples after an accident happened for my son at another childcare and he went to surgery room. I am so grateful about what Maples’ team have done for my son and my family at a very stressful time of our life. They are caring, kind and professional. The management team even answered my questions during the weekends. Wonderful educators helped my son to settle in his new environment. Maples has extracurricular such as sports, Music and sustainability. I am so glad that my son has a chance to join Maples and I highly recommend them.

Maples is amazing place! Great staff and very welcoming. My daughter have been going here for 6 months and she has learned so much since going here, She made lots of friends and really likes her teachers. I’m glad I found them!
The second I walked into Maples, I knew it was the right fit for my family. Every person we encountered on our tour gave us a genuine smile or wave (including a little boy who was telling his grown up what an exciting morning he had)
My baby has been attending Maples since she was 5 months old and I could not be happier with the quality of care that the educators provide for her. As a first time mum, I was a little hesitant about leaving her at such a young age, but my mind was quickly put to ease, knowing that there were permanent educators in the room and they communicated everything to us at drop off, pick up or just checking in throughout the day.
My daughter has built beautiful relationships with her educators, (as have we) and its really sweet to see how excited she gets when she arrives for the day and spots them! I love seeing and hearing about what she gets up to every day through photos and stories.

My daughter started primary school this year after graduating from the blossoms room at Maples Early Learning.
Our daughter went off to a school where she did not have any friends from Maples also attending which was our biggest concern however after receiving feedback from her prep teacher telling us how confident she is and how she has fitted in brilliantly and her letter recognition, and handwriting skills are very good I put this all back to Maples.
Maples prepared our daughter better than we could of ever imagined. The kinder staff are absolutely amazing.
If you want your child to have the best start possible to their school years then this is the place to get that.
We will never be able to Thankyou for everything you have taught our daughter we will be forever grateful!

In line with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, educators treat all children with dignity and respect and follow their interests, providing high quality resources and developmentally-appropriate experiences in the learning environment for children to engage with as the "third teacher". My son loves engaging with the nature-based play experiences, both indoor and outdoor, and my family and I really value the sustainable practices embedded into daily life at Maples. Management and educators are so easy to communicate with, as they employ a compassionate, understanding and flexible mindset. I trust that my son will continue to thrive at Maples as we transitions into 3 year old Kinder next year! Highly recommend going on a tour to see for yourself!

The facilities at the centre are amazing and sustainable. The environment is open and inviting - giving that sense of belonging to all who enter. The curriculum at the centre is supported by real life materials such as tea pots, cups, mixers etc. I've yet to see one piece of plastic in the centre!!
But most importantly are the educators and management who work there! It's obvious that childcare is a passion and carer for them and not just a time filler. When walking in the service each educator will make the effort to come and say hi to both myself and my children.

Very happy with the care at this centre. I toured a couple of centres initially and even based on the tour it was clear this was the centre for us. The staff, including the director, know all the children well. They are open to working with you on what type of care you want for your children.

It may appear from the outside that there is not much outdoor area but after attending the centre I can assure each room has a significant outdoor space attached and there's even chickens!

My 2 and a half year old loves Mernda Maples! She's always so excited to go and always so happy at the end of the day. She always has good things to tell me about what activities she did, what she ate, always tells me "Mummy I love my school. I'm happy". The environment in the centre is so welcoming and peaceful and the team are so creative!
My daughter has been attending since she was about 7 months old, almost a year later she still loves going in every day and comes home happy (and exhausted) each evening! The educators at Maples are really attentive and focussed on doing what's best for the children, while also being truly baby-led! For example my little explorer wanted to get in the sandpit after it had been raining (it was a warm afternoon) and she did, the lovely educators let her jump in and splash about and let other kids jump in and get dirty as well - the videos were priceless and it shows that the educators were not annoyed about the extra works these little munchkins were creating but rather enjoyed this fun experience with them! By the same token they have always been very attentive to the needs of parents, for example I have always had a no-shoe policy in my household (till my little one learned to walk of course) as I wanted her to feel all the different textures and sensations with her feet - despite a baby with no socks looking awful to prospective parents doing tours, the staff at Maples respected my wishes and took that extra step explaining to concerned parents that she is a no-shoes-no-socks kinda gal :-) I could really go on and on about how amazing their art program, language (French) classes are, the chicken coop etc and how much my little one enjoys hanging with the "big kids" in the main area at the end of each day dancing around to music or making their own music (on the big piano!) but what I love most is the focus on sustainability (they have no plastic toys - everything is natural, kids are allowed to play with actual kitchen pots and pans in the sandpit and actual musical equipment) and of course, my favourite - they are happy to use reusable cloth nappies! I absolutely could not fault Maples and thank them for being such a truly amazing place for little people<3

The minute you walk into the centre and are greeted by the director or owners, you get the sense of family and feel completely comfortable with dropping your children off.

We've been with OAC (previously Maples) since my youngest child was 1. The team at OAC have always been fantastic. My children have created close bonds with many of the educators and throughout the transition to OAC from Maples Hayley and her team have maintained their continued care. My children have created lasting friendships throughout their journeys in the different rooms that will hopefully last a lifetime.

We have been at Maples for 2 years before OAC took over last year and the majority of the staff and children have stayed, which means the classroom standards have not changed and are still fantastic. Don't be deterred by the company name, this centre has the best staff in the area!
