I highly recommend OAC Southbank. The level of care is exceptional. The educators provide a great variety of learning experiences and interact with the children in a caring and respectful way. Families are given a detailed overview of the day and have the opportunity to contribute to their child’s learning plan. The meals are also a highlight - a great range of healthy cuisines are prepared on site (the children can chat with the chef as they arrive for the day and see what she is preparing - a great way to involve them). I feel like the educators are part of our extended family in terms of how important their contribution has been to my son's wellbeing and development.

My son has been at this OAC for almost 2 years and has been so happy and well cared for and has made some great friends! OAC has been the place we have sent our son for 3 years. Every educator has always had the upmost care for him and made him feel so comfortable me leaving him since he was 1.Leaving the kinder room to start school next year with so much confidence in starting a new school. This has been one of the best decisions sending him here I have made.

OAC Southbank has been a fantastic choice for our daughter. The staff which includes Tanisha, Caitlyn, Halima, Shania are caring and attentive. They provide updates and share photos and stories of the campus life on a daily basis where as a parent, you can see your child indulged in several exciting activities. They ask parents to provide the quarterly plan for their children and also shares the progress made by the child in last three months. The campus is kept clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended!

OAC Southbank is a great childcare. Our children have gone there for over 3 years and the experience has been great.The educators are fantastic, are very welcoming to the children and work hard to keep the children active and stimulated. Food is very good (I never heard my children complain about it) and the centre is very well run overall. The daily dairy is a great tool to learn what the little ones have been up to and also encourages communication with the educators. Communication with management is also excellent.

Great childcare with friendly, caring staff, small classes and modern facilities.We started in nursery this year and it’s been such an easy transition with the help of OAC staff. I feel confident our baby’s in safe hands, get lots of routine updates and love the daily story to see what he’s done. He eats and sleeps really well there so they must know the best methods and no tears at drop off! He loves going!A great option to consider while few people are at work in the city and suburb Centres have huge waitlists.

Only About Children Southbank is an expansive childcare centre with three dedicated outdoor areas, each with its own unique age-appropriate structures, children have plenty of space to engage in exploring, creating and leading their own play. Our seven age-based indoor spaces, including dedicated playscape, are specifically designed to encourage children to learn and grow with a focus on safety and natural elements.

At Only About Children Southbank we have a culturally diverse team of bilingual educators who can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Hokkien, Arabic, Fiji Hindi, Korean, Shona and Sri Lankan.

OAC Flexi (occasional care) is available at our Southbank Campus. This option is for families wishing to utilise occasional or back up childcare at short notice. OAC Flexi is available in 2 sessions, full day or part day and is available for children aged 12 weeks – 5 years old.

Our multi-level Campus is located on the 8th floor of 4 Freshwater Place, Southbank, a premium apartment building in a unique location on the banks of the Yarra River, and opposite the Melbourne CBD. The National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Art Centre are both only an 8-12-minute walk away. With pass-access onsite parking available, families can enjoy a convenient drop off and pick up every visit. Public transport is in abundance at our Southbank early learning centre. We are close to Flinders Street Station and local tram stops and bus stops, with plenty of services going to and from the Melbourne CBD.

Southbank Nursery (6 weeks – 2 years)

At Only About Children Southbank Nursery, our passionate educators focus on laying a foundation for enduring curiosity, confidence and a love of learning. Our Southbank Nursery caters to the care and development needs of infants aged 6 weeks -2 years.

The Southbank Nursery focuses on safe sleep practices developed by qualified Family Health Nurses and Consultants. Our nursery is a safe and stimulating environment that encourages your child to explore and play and implements both structure and a nurturing environment with our exceptional caregiving and play routines.

Our Southbank Nursery Program includes:

Age 6 weeks -2 years appropriate indoor/outdoor learning environments.
Sleeping rooms with a focus on positive sleep practices.

Our Only About Children Southbank campus is focused on giving your child a calm and welcoming environment that balances play, exploration, and learning. Our Toddler rooms are led by passionate educators who create play-based learning activities designed to provide toddler-aged children with nurturing experiences that encourage growth and development.

Our Toddler rooms are safe, supportive spaces that facilitate creative exploration. Each space is expertly designed to encourage younger children to explore, solve problems, create, construct and interact with peers.

Southbank Kindergarten (3-5 years)

Only About Children Southbank Kindergarten is focused on creating quality experiences that place your child in the best position to begin school. Our nurturing kindergarten educators give special emphasis on building school-ready skills, such as Literacy & Language, Exploration & STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering & Math), Sustainability, Music, Dramatic Play and Art. We aim to make your child’s transition to school as smooth as possible by providing balanced, small group learning activities that build independence and resilience along with academic skills.

Our team of highly-skilled educators and health specialists work together to create an integrated journey that enhances your child’s learning and development. Individual learning plans are created to empower each child with skills that will help them reach their full academic and social potential.

We use the Kinder Tick at Only About Children Southbank because we’re an approved provider of a Victorian Government funded kindergarten program. That means our service delivers a play-based learning program, led by a qualified early childhood teacher.

Southbank Kindergarten program

Provides an innovative curriculum focused on left brain logic and right brain creativity
Includes both structured and unstructured play-based learning that considers the child’s individual interests and development
Provides an ‘Individual Learning and Development Plan’ for every child with 6 monthly check-ins with families
A learning focus from 9am to 3pm to prepare children for typical school hours and routine whilst providing the flexibility of long hours for social development and play
Is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) for childcare.
Includes Health and Social Development support in preparation for school, including complementary Vision Screening

Campus Director

Tina is a passionate early childhood professional who sees children as innately wise and capable beings, who teach us what life is all about.

Having studied her master’s degree of Early Childhood Education at the University of Melbourne, she is dedicated to supporting and promoting the emotional, social, and physical development of young children. With my aim to lead a team to deliver high-quality educational program and care, working together with families to help all children reach their potential and to thrive in their future.

Having worked as a kindergarten teacher, educational leader, and centre director, Tina brings to OAC a contemporary approach to pedagogy and education with experience in the STEM learning environment.

Together with the team Tina strives to guide innovative and holistic approaches to achieve exceeding themes within the service.
