Only About Children Newport is an experienced kindergarten and childcare centre for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, designed specifically for early years education.

Where to find us
Our purpose-built Campus is located at 82-84 Blackshaws Road, Newport, on the corner of Blackshaws Road and Sutton Street, and just a three-minute walk from our local bus stops. Newport Station is a three–minute drive or an 18-minute walk in the other direction. The gorgeous Newport Lakes Reserve, an expansive park area with picnic areas, playground and water features, is only a 10-minute walk away. Our closest schools are Spotswood Primary School and Newport Lakes Primary School. With plenty of onsite parking, families can be sure of a smooth drop off and pick up every visit.

Newport Nursery (6 weeks – 2 years)
At Only About Children Newport Nursery, our passionate educators nurture curiosity, confidence and early learning for infants aged 6 weeks to 2 years. Our safe, stimulating environment combines structured routines with nurturing care and play.
Our Newport Nursery Program includes:
- Age-appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Sleeping rooms with a focus on positive sleep practices.
- Dietitian-designed baby menus with daily meals and snacks.
- All baby essentials provided, including nappies, cots, linen, and sunscreen.
- Balanced structured and unstructured play-based learning through the Grow curriculum

Newport Toddlers (2-3 years)
Our Only About Children Newport, our toddler rooms provide a calm ,welcoming space that balances play, exploration, and learning. Passionate educators deliver play-based learning activities that support growth, problem solving, creativity and peer interaction.
Our Newport Toddler program includes:
- Safe age appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Balanced structured and unstructured play-based learning through the Grow curriculum
- Small group learning activities.
- Dietitian-designed menus with daily meals and snacks.
- Calm sleeping and resting rooms.

Newport Kindergarten (3-5 years)
At Only About Children Newport, our kindergarten program is designed to give children aged 3-5 the strongest start to school. Led by qualified early childhood teachers, we focus on building school-ready skills through a balance of structured learning and play. Our Newport kindergarten is part of the Victorian Government Free Kinder program, plus recognised with the Kinder Tick.
What’s Included in Our Newport Kindergarten program:
- A play-based Grow curriculum covering literacy, STEM, sustainability, art, and music
- Individual learning and development plans with regular progress check-ins
- School-ready structure with core learning hours from 9am–3pm
- Long daycare hours for added flexibility and social growth
- Fully aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS).
- Health and Social Development support in preparation for school, including free Vision Screening

Campus Director Claire has over 11 years of experience in early childhood education, inspired by the positive impact early learning had on her own two children. With a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, Claire leads with empathy and a strong focus on creating safe, inclusive, and nurturing environments.
Claire is passionate about building strong relationships with children, families, and educators, and supporting her team’s professional growth. She believes that children thrive when they feel connected, that play is essential for learning, and that every child’s unique background and identity should be celebrated.
Originally from England, Claire has called Melbourne’s western suburbs home for nearly 20 years. Outside of work, she enjoys supporting her children’s karate journey and planning family travel adventures — with Japan being a favourite destination.
