Only About Children Balwyn North is a warm and inviting childcare centre with three dedicated outdoor play spaces, featuring sandpits and climbing equipment, children have plenty of space to explore, create and lead their own play. Each space is dedicated to a different age group with designated areas for Nursery, Toddler and Kinder children. Our four age-based indoor spaces have been specifically created to encourage children in their learning and growth, with a focus on safety and natural elements.

We also have two Early Childhood Educators in the Kindergarten room who hold a Master of Teaching, to ensure that every child receives the care they need to learn and grow.
- Getting out into our local community through planned excursions and community activities that build on our educational curriculum and the children’s interests. These include regular trips to our local shops and parks and engaging in activities with children and teachers from Greythorn Primary School as part of our School Readiness Program.

- A leading nutrition, health and wellbeing offering which includes a Dietitian designed seasonal menu and fresh meals prepared daily in-house by our campus cooks

Our innovative play-based Grow Curriculum gives Nursery, Toddler and Kindergarten children the best opportunity to develop their growing minds during their early years. It includes:
- Left Brain Logic – Literacy & Language, Exploration & STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering & Math) and Sustainability
- Right Brain Creativity – Music, Dramatic Play and Art
- Health and Wellbeing – Physical Activity and Nutrition

Our Grow curriculum is delivered via intentional teaching in dynamic small group learning environments where children’s successes, skills and challenges are monitored on an ongoing basis.
OAC Flexi (occasional care) is available at our Balwyn North Campus. This option is for families wishing to utilise occasional or back up childcare at short notice. OAC Flexi is available in 2 sessions, full day or part day and is available for children aged 12 weeks – 5 years old.

Our purpose-built two-level Campus is conveniently located at 135 Greythorn Road, Balwyn North, on the corner of Greythorn Road and Yeneda Street, right opposite Greythorn Primary School and a 10-minute walk from Greythorn Park. There are several parks and reserves in the surrounding area. With underground parking available, families can be sure of a smooth drop off and pick up every visit. A public bus route runs along our road with bus stops a short walk away.

Balwyn North Nursery (6 weeks – 2 years)
At Only About Children Balwyn North, our passionate educators nurture curiosity, confidence and early learning for infants aged 6 weeks to 2 years. Our safe, stimulating environment combines structured routines with nurturing care and play.
Our Balwyn North Nursery Program includes:
- Age-appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Sleeping rooms with a focus on positive sleep practices.
- Dietitian-designed baby menus with daily meals and snacks.
- All baby essentials provided, including nappies, cots, linen, and sunscreen.
- Balanced structured and unstructured play-based learning through the Grow curriculum

Balwyn North Toddlers (2-3 years)
Our Only About Children Balwyn North, our toddler rooms provide a calm ,welcoming space that balances play, exploration, and learning. Passionate educators deliver play-based learning activities that support growth, problem solving, creativity and peer interaction.
Our Balwyn North Toddler program includes:
- Safe age appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Balanced structured and unstructured play-based learning through the Grow curriculum
- Small group learning activities.
- Dietitian-designed menus with daily meals and snacks.
- Calm sleeping and resting rooms.

Balwyn North Kindergarten (3-5 years)
At Only About Children Balwyn North, our kindergarten program is designed to give children aged 3-5 the strongest start to school. Led by qualified early childhood teachers, we focus on building school-ready skills through a balance of structured learning and play. Our Balwyn North kindergarten is part of the Victorian Government Free Kinder program, plus recognised with the Kinder Tick.
What’s Included in Our Balwyn North Kindergarten program:
- A play-based Grow curriculum covering literacy, STEM, sustainability, art, and music
- Individual learning and development plans with regular progress check-ins
- School-ready structure with core learning hours from 9am–3pm
- Long daycare hours for added flexibility and social growth
- Fully aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS).
- Health and Social Development support in preparation for school, including free Vision Screening

Meet our Campus Director
Michelle Kavanagh
Michelle has been part of the early childhood sector for over 20 years and recently joined Only About Children as Campus Director at Balwyn North. She was inspired to join the field by her love of connecting with children and finds joy in watching them grow, learn, and reach new milestones.
Michelle loves welcoming children and families each day while guiding her team to create nurturing, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences. She believes in play-based learning as a way for children to explore, discover, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Building strong partnerships with families and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment are at the heart of her approach.
A local Doncaster resident and mother of two, Michelle understands the joys and challenges of raising young children. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, spending time with her family, and catching up with friends.
