Where it all started

I started working for Only About Children in 2018 as a float educator. I worked between rooms as I studied for my Diploma. Within six months of working at the campus, I was a Room Leader of the Toddler Room and then a year later the Preschool / Kinder Room.

So many opportunities

Only About children supported me as I worked full time and studied my ECT full time. A year later I was presented with the opportunity to become an Educational Leader. This was a wonderful experience and gave me the opportunity to explore educational practices. Something I feel very passionate about. I was then offered the Assistant Director role.

Transferring interstate

I had worked at Only About children in NSW when I decided to move interstate to Victoria. Without a doubt, my first instinct was to transfer to another Only About Children Campus in Victoria. That process was so smooth. I worked with a team that supported and guided me through the transition.

Forever grateful for the support from Only About Children

The recruitment team and my new SOMs had many team meetings helping me find the perfect campus for myself. The experience of moving was less daunting having the comfort and support from Only About Children.

When I arrived at the campus there were a lot of changes which meant that I stepped into the acting Campus Director role until we were able to hire a new Campus Director. I was very lucky to have a supportive and hardworking team that helped me during that time. I am also very grateful to everyone at the Support Office and other Victorian campuses that supported our campus during that time.

Only About Children is such a great place to work

My favourite part of working for Only About Children is the endless opportunities to grow. I have always felt supported and encouraged to grow in my profession and pedagogy with new challenges and opportunities.

Another reason I would say it is a wonderful place to work is the endless amount of support networks to assist educators and campuses. Especially during COVID-19, we can feel the support of the Support Office and other leaders as they help guide the educators and other staff during such a challenging time.

Finally, I also believe that Only About children strive to make positive changes and reflect on their practices looking out for the best interest of everyone.
