Roles In Early Childhood Education & Care

Early childhood education offers diverse career opportunities with the benefits of positively shaping children's development. Here we take a look at the roles in this vital field.

Exploring The Diverse Roles In Early Childhood Education

Working in early childhood education and care is a rewarding and impactful career choice that can bring a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction that can lead to many fun, meaningful and engaging career pathways.

We have various roles and positions dedicated to nurturing the development and wellbeing of young children. Let’s explore the key roles in this crucial field:

Early Childhood Educator/Childcare Worker

Early childhood educators, often referred to as childcare workers, work directly with children in various early childhood settings, such as daycare centres, preschools, and family daycares.

They create a safe and nurturing environment, plan and implement age-appropriate activities, and support children’s learning and development.

Early childhood teachers hold a higher level of qualification, typically a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.

They work in early learning centres, preschools and kindergartens and are responsible for planning and implementing educational programs for young children, preparing them for formal schooling, including early literacy and numeracy skills.
