Growing Community Connections at OAC Asquith
At OAC Asquith, our community hub is a welcoming space that brings families together through sharing, creativity and connection. Located outside the campus, the hub features a community library, community pantry and seed library, while also showcasing children’s artwork to celebrate their creativity and foster a sense of pride.
The community library encourages a love of reading through a book swap initiative, giving families the opportunity to share and discover stories together. Nearby, the community pantry provides non-perishable food items that can be accessed and contributed to by members of the local community, helping to promote kindness and support for others.
Children are especially excited by the seed library, where they can choose seed packets to take home and plant with their families. This simple initiative encourages curiosity about nature while creating opportunities for learning and connection beyond the classroom.
The space also features a display of the children’s recent artwork. By sharing their creations, children develop a sense of belonging and accomplishment while knowing their work is valued and celebrated.
At OAC Asquith, we believe small acts of sharing can make a big difference. Through our community hub, we are creating opportunities for children and families to connect, contribute and experience the joy of being part of a caring community.
