What’s unique about our Oac Grow curriculum?

11 Feb 2020

Oac Grow is our unique and innovative play-based curriculum that differs to other early learning programs by delivering intentional teaching in dynamic small group learning environments where children’s successes, skills and challenges are monitored on an on-going basis.

At Oac, our Oac Grow curriculum is designed by our dedicated in-house Curriculum, Health, Music, Language and Sports Physiology teams in conjunction with the Early Years Learning Framework. Together we deliver innovative early learning programs including Oac Music, Oac Active, Oac Nutrition, Oac Language and our Book of the Month daily and all-inclusive within our fee.

Igniting a passion for music

We believe that music is a key part of life, and through the Oac Music program we help children to understand and appreciate everything from tempo and timbre, to pitch and participation through movement. Our children explore music daily, whether it is through song, music or dance.

Active play

Designed by a qualified Sports Science Physiologist in consultation with our in-house Oac Health team, our Oac Active program helps children learn important gross motor skills, which are fundamental to many areas of learning. Through this program, children improve their strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and co-ordination in a fun and inclusive environment.

Helping little minds and bodies grow

We passionately believe that good nutrition plays a vital role in children’s physical and mental development in early childhood. Not only does every child in our care enjoy nutritious Dietitian designed meals prepared daily by our in-house cook, but they are encouraged to learn about nutrition through our Fruit of the Month and Vegetable of the Month.

Loving language

Did you know that a child’s brain is primed for language during the first few years of life? With this in mind, we have developed a Spanish Language program for our Toddlers and Preschool/Kinder children. The benefits of this program go well beyond language; it also helps enhance literacy, verbal and mathematical skills, increase creativity, and improve problem-solving skills.

Sharing stories

Through our ‘Book of the Month’ program, we introduce children to the wonderful world of language and literature. Each month, we choose a new book title and explore the text, illustrations and ideas and theme that link to other areas of our integrated curriculum.
