Tanabata Star Festival at OAC Enmore
Recently, OAC Enmore was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated the Japanese Tanabata Star Festival, all thanks to our wonderful educator, Mayu. She transformed our foyer and rooms with beautiful decorations, bringing a little piece of Japan right to our campus.
Mayu, who works part-time as a Cert 3 educator, had been gathering these special items for years, both from home and during trips back to Japan. She’s passionate about sharing her culture, and it really showed in every detail of the celebration.
Check out some of the photos from the festival to see how the space was beautifully decorated and how much fun we had. One of the highlights was having children and families write their wishes on paper and hang them on bamboo trees in the foyer and rooms—just like they do in Japan. On the Friday of the festival, we had even more fun dressing up in kimonos and making handmade sushi.

We’re so proud of Mayu for her dedication and creativity in making this festival such a special experience for everyone.
