Science Week Sparks Discovery at OAC Mernda

At Only About Children Mernda, we celebrated Science Week with an exciting week of discovery and hands-on learning. From erupting volcanoes to colourful science experiments, the children embraced every opportunity to explore, investigate and have fun while learning.

Throughout the week, the children made volcanoes and eagerly watched them erupt. They explored colour mixing, investigated different oobleck textures and experimented with milk and oil. Using milk, food colouring and dish soap, they observed fascinating reactions before creating their own lava lamps.

The children also planted seeds and will continue watching them grow, learning about care, patience and the natural world. Our space exploration experiences introduced different planets and inspired wonderful conversations about the universe and what lies beyond our world.

Through these hands-on experiences, the children developed curiosity, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills while building an understanding of cause and effect. Science Week encouraged them to ask questions, make predictions and discover new ideas through exploration and play.
