Celebrating the Reopening of Only About Children Maroubra
On Saturday, we proudly welcomed children, families, educators and members of the local community to celebrate the official reopening of our Maroubra campus.
After more than 12 months of rebuilding, it was a meaningful and emotional moment to come together again – marking not just the reopening of a campus, but the beginning of a new chapter for a community that has shown incredible resilience.
A special day for our community
The ribbon untying marked the official reopening, but the true highlight of the day was seeing children once again filling the campus with laughter, curiosity and joy.
Thoughtfully rebuilt with care
Since closing in January 2025, significant work has gone into restoring the Maroubra campus. Every detail of the rebuild has been approached with care, with a strong focus on creating a space where children, families and educators feel safe, supported and inspired.
The result is a beautifully refreshed learning environment that reflects the warmth and connection that has always been at the heart of OAC Maroubra.
A place of stability and connection
As OAC CEO Anna Learmonth shared during the event, early childhood education plays a vital role in providing stability and a sense of belonging for children – especially during uncertain times.
The reopening of the campus is not only about a physical space, but about strengthening community connections and supporting one another.
Looking ahead
While the campus officially reopened to families on Tuesday 28 April, Saturday’s celebration offered an important opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate this milestone together.
We are deeply grateful to our families and educators who have stood by the Maroubra campus throughout this journey. Your support, patience and trust have been instrumental in reaching this moment.
We are excited to welcome children back into our care and look forward to continuing to provide a nurturing environment where every child can learn, grow and thrive.
