New Childcare Package
The Australian Government’s New Child Care Package (Jobs for Families Child Care Package) is commencing from July 2018. This will result in a number of changes to how child care subsidies are paid in Australia.
The new Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will be one payment made directly to the child care service (Oac) and then passed through to families. The percentage that you will be eligible to receive will be based on three factors:
- Combined family income
- Activity level of families – activity level is the ‘recognised activities’ that enables a family to claim a subsidy (eg: work, study or training) up to a maximum of 100 hours per fortnight based on the parent with the least number of hours
- Type of childcare – for Oac this is Long Day Care services and the hourly rate is capped at $11.77
A Payment and Services Finder has been provided to assist in working out the impact to your individual situation. We encourage all our families to review this ‘Subsidy Estimator’ so that you are well informed on what this change means for you.
Oac has created specific FAQs here to assist you through this transition

Returning of Complying Written Agreement Statements
All enrolled families will be required to complete a Complying Written Agreement Statement by July 2nd. Directors will be providing this to each family by the 15th June for the signed approval by the CRN holder.
