Only About Children South Melbourne has large outdoor play areas featuring climbing frames, bike tracks, sandpits, a worm farm, growing area and bamboo forest – children have plenty of space to explore, create and lead their own play. Each yard is under the covering of large sunshades for those summer days. Our classrooms are age-based and designed with natural elements and a focus on safety and learning.

Only About Children South Melbourne Kindergarten is focused on creating quality experiences that place children in the best position to begin school. Our nurturing educators give special emphasis on building school-ready skills, such as Literacy & Language, Exploration & STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering & Math), Sustainability, Music, Dramatic Play and Art. We aim to make each child’s transition to school as smooth as possible by providing balanced, small group learning activities that build independence and resilience along with academic skills.

About the Role

As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be inspiring the programs across the kindergarten while ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment.

  • Ensuring the Oac Grow curriculum is being delivered in line with children’s interests
  • Inspiring the children by creating inspiring and interesting age-appropriate learning environments 
  • Forming meaningful partnerships with families to reach the best outcomes for each individual child

Requirements of the Role

  • A Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) or equivalent ACECQA approved teaching qualification
  • VIT Registration (Early Childhood)
  • Experience in planning and implementing the educational program which values a holistic view of each child’s development
  • Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and EYLF 
  • Effective implementation of pedagogy in your teaching practice
  • Covid-19 vaccination
