About The Role

Reporting to our Director of technology you will be responsible for enhancing the organisation’s capabilities in business analytics and IT business partnership to ensure that these applications are not only technically sound but also aligned with the strategic objectives of the organisation. Additionally, this role require demonstrating expertise in middleware solutions to effectively integrate applications, particularly those lacking readily accessible APIs. 

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • The Application Support Manager oversee the management and optimisation of a suite of business applications, ensuring they align with organisational needs.
  • This position is a stakeholder facing role and requires the Application Support Manager to establish and manage relationships with SaaS vendors, including contract negotiations, service level agreements, and performance monitoring.
  • A hands-on role working closely with business units to identify and implement application solutions that support strategic objectives. Coordinate with IT and business stakeholders to define requirements for new applications or enhancements.
  • Monitor application performance, proposing and implementing improvements and provide escalation support for complex technical issues.
  • Develop and manage budgets for application development, maintenance, and procurement. Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance staff competency in using key applications.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or specific certifications related to business application management, project management or cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure certifications) would be highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and optimising a suite of business applications. Proficiency in leveraging Microsoft Azure for cloud computing, application hosting, and data analytics is essential.
  • Extensive experience in project management, particularly in software development and middleware integration projects, along with proven ability to manage relationships with SaaS vendors, including contract negotiation, SLA oversight, and performance management.
  • Experience in aligning IT initiatives with business goals and demonstrating a strong understanding of the broader business context is crucial.
